If you don’t know who he is, you’ve either been hiding under a rock with your 8-track player, or you are brand new to the world Combatives, a world in which Reggie is one of the top authorities.
These days, most of the Dojos and Gyms are Sunday Schools that teach “Mr. Rogers-style Self-Defense”
And MMA gyms?
Do you know what MMA actually IS?
You might think you do, but just in case, I’ll go ahead and give you the facts:
Fact: MMA is a SPORT
Fact: A sport has Rules, and nice soft mats
Fact: There are NO RULES in the street, and no mats - it’s HARD CONCRETE
These are facts you cannot argue with.
Now, I gladly acknowledge that any serious MMA practitioner might be a fairly worthy opponent.
And MMA is such a popular sport these days that a lot of young guys are taking it up. Young guys that include big strong and stupid young guys, drinking and drug partiers, gang-bangers, and up-and-coming career criminals.
Yep, those type of young guys. They’re in every town, including yours. And you could easily end up facing one who wants to HURT YOU for fun or to prove a point.
That’s why you better know how to BEAT them, with NASTY VIOLENT TACTICS that they don’t train for (because it’s ILLEGAL in their Sport and not taught in MMA Gyms)
Does that make sense?
Look. The stuff they're teaching out there in the Dojo's and MMA Sports-Gyms are great for a physical challenge and a good workout, but when it comes to PAIN, DAMAGE and DEATH - they don't teach that realistically at all - because they don’t know how.
A franchise system with a rainbow of belts does not teach you how to fight for your life. Nor does a sport with “rules”
I'll brace myself for a sh*t-load of hate-mail from strip-mall McDojo franchisees, sports gyms, and camo-clad combat gurus. But I don't give a damn what they say. The truth is the truth whether they like it or not.
If you want Combatives that actually WORK in real physical violence, you need to learn it from a trainer who has been immersed in physical violence all of his life. Who actually knows violence directly.
Man is the Sum of his Actions - What he has Done - What he will Do and What he Can do when the time Comes.
